FB+foodAs a kid, I remember coming home from school, ripping open the fridge, and reveling in the impending doom (of my belly) that bag of Doritos/carton of ice cream/package of toaster strudels would face. I wasn't a particularly active kid, and looking back, I know that the sluggishness, sleepiness, and lightheadedness I constantly felt throughout my childhood had everything to do with what I was putting in my body.
Over the years, my relationship with food has grown and changed to complement a new, active lifestyle. Whether I am training for a half marathon, teaching cycling classes, or just being on my feet all day teaching 8th graders, I always need to be sure that what I put in my body is the right fuel for the outcome I want. Now my passion is helping others to repair their relationship with food and to see healthful eating not as a chore, but as a vital piece of a fulfilling life.
